    • It was on the occasion of the marriage of Louis XIV and the Infanta of Spain in Saint-Jean-de-Luz in 1660 that some macarons from Maison Adam were placed on a pewter tray. This delicate delicacy was so appreciated by the gourmet sovereign that it would make the success of Maison Adam.

We still continue to enjoy this macaron today, the recipe of which has remained secret and has been passed down in the family for 13 generations. You will also find their generous Basque cakes and chocolates in the shops of this Luzian and Biarritz institution.

For this reason, Maison Adam does not open the doors of its workshop but we recommend that you dive into their world by pushing open the doors of their shops where the prestigious macarons are surrounded by paintings and works of art from the region. The parent company is located at 6 Place Louis XIV in Saint-Jean-de-Luz. A shop full of history and souvenirs since you can see at the back of the room, the family buffet and the table where the children used to have their snack.

In Biarritz, at 3 Place Clémenceau, the macaroons, Basque cakes and chocolates are in a sumptuous setting, where the staircase in the back room offers a glimpse of the ocean and the Biarritz lighthouse.

A sensory experience awaits you in their shop at 4 Place Louis XIV, called Etxea (house, place of life in Basque). A concheuse and a roaster, two machines necessary for making praline, let a delicious smell of roasted almonds escape from the shop.

Free entry and accessible to groups.

Hello, my niece, returning from Saint-Jean-de-Luz, brought me back a bar of 75% chocolate. What a taste this chocolate has, both intense and sweet. Whenever I'm in the area, I come and see you. Congratulations on your expertise. Chantal Ferault

The macarons and praline basque cake we tried were out of this world. I’ve been day dreaming about both items since we went!
